Fears of a French invasion and the political turmoil leading up to the 1798 rebellion, saw the formation of the Armagh Volunteers, Yeomanry and Militia. Displays and collections covering this period contain uniforms, rifles, swords, belt plates, buttons, ceramics, glass and silver ware.

Other cases include sections on the Tyrone and Louth Militia, the Royal Irish Fusiliers and the regiment of the North Irish Horse.
